picture was taken a couple of years ago across the street from
where i lived. it was the track beside the school, central tech,
i think.
morrissey was last night and it sure was weird. lots of older
people, hipsters and high school kids. he put on a really good
show considering the music was terrible. he did play a couple
of smiths songs but the band sounded pretty weak on them. they
ended up sounding like covers or karaoke. people were still crazy
for him, they did the hugging thing and it seemed that he enjoyed
it alot. the guys who would get up on stage would run for him
at full speed for there hug, but the girls took a different approach
and got up and walked up to him and gently kissed him on the cheek.
some people whispered stuff in his ear when they got up there.
i've never seen such devotion to a singer before. it was a great
experience. i know that people were wanting more smiths songs
but he mostly played his new album.
i'm still reading the weezer book, it's a long one considering
that it's about a band like weezer. about half the book is the
blue album and pinkerton, which is mostly the stuff i wanted to
read about. i still have about two hundred pages to go. i just
finished the part where he drops out of harvard after making pinkerton
and he goes a little crazy, painting his house all black on the
inside, disconnects the phone and just writes songs. it says that
he ended up writing over a hundred songs in that period. very
interesting. |
