i got in the mail the william
eggleston postcards that i ordered from amazon. there really
awesome. some of the photos i hadn't seen before. i might get
a frame or two and hang them on the wall. then i can brag that
i've got a eggleston print on my wall!
on the weekend i finally decided to buy a film scanner. i had
heard from numerous people that it would improve the quality of
the images that are seen here and various other places. also i
wanted to be able to control the process more when making larger
reprints by do all required touch ups and colour adjustments.
saving them to a disk and having prints made from that instead
of the negative. what i really didn't realize is that the scans
from the negative are really raw and a pain in the ass to work
with. yeah, if i knew photoshop a little better i could maybe
get them looking better but i don't have the patience. fiddling
around with photoshop all night isn't the reason i started this
photoblog.
i took this picture above because
i like the angles at which the car, cart and pole were at. also
i like the rust on the pole too. i wish that the black suv wasn't
in the background. i've always mentally debated on wither or not
to have modern objects in my photos but i finally decided to just
let it be and let time take care of whatever is shiny and new.
pretty soon that ford focus (or whatever it is) will soon look
dated and foreign.
