so instead of making some giant pretentious list of my favorite albums of two thousand and five, i'll just list some of the stuff that i found this year. could be from this year or not, just bands that i've enjoyed from january 1st to december 31st.

islands - nick diamonds new band, if you liked the unicorns you'll
enjoy this new album hopefully coming out really soon. great
live too. (pictured above)

the go! team - yeah it was really hyped but it still is pretty good.

love is all - similar to the go! team, kind of.

ariel pink - this guy is crazy but in a good way. it sounds like a
serious weird al from the late seventies.

serena maneesh - really good shoegazer.

magic numbers - really catchy pop from the uk.

talking heads - you know, the talking heads.

modern lovers - great, but no talking heads.

clap your hands say yeah - a poppier joy division

brian jonestown massacre - after seeing dig it put the music in a
whole new light.

the unicorns - uh, yeah, like only the best fucking band of the last five years.
